Has anyone had any experience with laser treatment to help with quitting smoking?Any success even initially?
Ive tried everything with the exception of the Zyban (welbutrin) which im not to keen on the idea of, considering i have an addictive personality to begin with.
The chantix worked till i got off it, and thought "oh i can have just one" but cant take the dreams or mood swings that come with it again to get back on it =/
Also anyone know if Aetna has any programs that pays for those sort of treatments or smoking cessation?
Thanks in advance!
dave
This is a complete scam based on acupuncture.
There is not a hope that this could ever work. Quitting smoking involves will power; you got off it once then went back, I would have thought that someone would have told you that you can't EVER touch a cigarette ever again, as it just fires up your nicotine receptors.
You've given up once so do it again. Don't let others prey on you just because of your addiction.

I don't know about laser treatment but I quit smoking by using Nicorette gum. It was tough but I chewed gum for 6 months before I was able to quit completely.

I have never heard of anyone quitting smoking with laser treatment. I don't see how it could be effective in any way. Quitting smoking is all about overcoming a combination of physical and mental issues. Willpower has nothing to do with it and going cold turkey or using the "willpower method" is the least successful way to quit smoking. By using the term willpower you are implying that you are denying yourself something that is good or pleasurable, smoking is neither. When you start to realise this you are on the way to quitting. Smoking gives no benefit at all apart from to relieve the withdrawal cravings created by your last cigarette.
Nicotine is as addictive as heroin, which means that, as you have found out, you can't just have one. That one cigarette will make you want another and the cycle begins again. Try reading Allen Carr's Easyway book, it worked a treat for me and is the most effective way I have found to quit smoking. I quit after smoking for 29 years and have no desire to smoke even one.

actually speaking, what Nick and dave have said, both are right. I feel you need both willpower as well as practical and pragmatic thinking which will straight away tell you that smoking does only harm to you and nothing else.
Yes, you may go in for some herbal medications to facilitate your decision making and the process after wards.
They will Support the nervous system in preparation for quitting, help to maintain balanced serotonin levels in the brain which again can help to provide the support you need.
There are also homeopathic remedy available for relief from restlessness and agitation while quitting cigarettes.
you may check the links below for details.
Hope they help. They do.
