Marijuana illegal? what do you say?My question isn't simple.
First, should marijuan be legalized? Why/whynot?
Second, I don't think so.
This is why, technically alcohol isn't technically "legal". Nor is tobacco. Both pose negative effects on health and society yet it is deemed "safe". Same with weedm
Next, both alcohol and tobaco are age restricted.. which weed should be too.
Then, alcohol has certain restrictions that tobacco doesn't have.. such as (at least in va) using while driving.
Drinking and driving is terrible.. so is smoking weed and driving. But not smoking tobacco and driving.
So, I say weed should be treated similar to alcohol. Dwis.. duis... underage posession.. etc..
Let's turn the war on weed into something that makes weed like alcohol... age restricted, driving restricted, dependence clinics, and all the inspections from health departments equal. Afterall.. technically speaking.. alcohol is more dangerous than weed. The thing is.. you don't have to smoke weed. You can eat it too.
I propose a government that says weed is okay under extremely strict rules, similar to alcohol. The same studies and tests and facilities should exist. Society needs to know that its not just financial. Its for the better good. Crime with weed exists because it is illegal and the risks of dealing or using it are extreme. The same was with alcohol. But if that "forbidden fruit" thing with weed was taken away.. and responsible users could rely on the safe distribution of weed sinilar to alcohol could be obtained.. crime would be less.
I want to address that crime/drug cartels would target these "legal centers".. it would put these cartels into a bottleneck of operation.. meaning it would be much easier to control.
The bottom line.. america is about freedom and responsibility and example.
If we can prove that there is mewrit that making marijuana like alcohol with the same restrictions but making them more surveiled and controlled.. crime would be limited.. taxes would be ridiculous.. and our chill

It should be legal because people should be able to put whatever they want in their own body. Not only that but it is not like the government is successful at eradicating it anyway. It's a failed policy that is a waste of money.

Free Men ought to be able to choose, how to injure/kill themselves on their own.
Partaking in ANY drugs ought to be legal (even if discouraged by people of quality).

Marijuana should remain illegal. It is a danger to the children and can cause a lot of problems for the families of the people who use it, trust me, i know. My brother was addicted to pot for the longest time and it really messed up his life. He was always blowing off the family to shoot up pot with his friends and would steal from us to pay for him to get his fix, and it ended killing him. I came home from school one day and there he was, laying naked in a pile of his own vomit, I had to pull the pot needle out of his arm so the paramedics wouldn't be suspicious.

It should be legal. I guess America just loves dealing with modern day Al Capones and prohibition, which doesn't work at all. The law doesn't stop anyone from obtaining cannabis. I'll also embrace the quote: "Freedom isn't free."

Marijuana is illegal, and that's appropriate.
