Any tips to stop my father from smoking?My father is a heavy smoker, and he's smoking himself to death!
I want him to take advantage of Ramadan, and end smoking once and for all, but it is too, too difficult for him.
What can I do or say to him, so that he takes advantage of Ramadan and Insha'Allah quits smoking forever? I really want to help my dad out.

nicotine addiction is a difficult thing to cure. Just keep reminding him that you love him and would like to have him around to spend time with his grandchildren. It was the hardest habit i ever faced to get over . that was 30 years ago. Had I not of quit I would not be able to answer you today.

well my cousin done this...she said to my uncle as long as your smoking and killing yourself...so am i.
she went and bought a pack of cigarettes, and smoked them all that day, the next day she bought another. she never smoked infront of her parents..she used tosmoke at school, and they'd smell it on her when she got home....then she pulled out the empty cartons from her bag. her dad almost had a heart attack lol (not literally) he gave her a massive lecture and grounded her and took away all her loved posessions...and he quit smoking.
this isnt a good way to get your dad to quit..but tell him this story, he might get turned off...
and remind him that he CAN do it...if he has the ability to quit during ramadan..the he can do it ANY day.

My father is a really heavy smoker as well. Probably worse than yours. Wanna know why? He's been smoking since elementary school in his country b/c obviously back then, they had no idea what it was. Im on the same page as you, and Inshallah he will stop. Dont ever give up, no matter how hopeless it seems, because believe me sometimes shaitaan overcomes me and tells me that my dad's at a dead end and theres no more hope, therse no point, Astaghfirallah. Inshallah, may Allah subhana wa ta'ala make this Ramadan a special one for our dads and purify their hearts and for them to stop smoking. For me, it's hard because if i try to talk to my dad to stop smokking, i get really emotional to the point i cant even talk. So i'll make du'ah for you and your father.
