Off the battlefield, many US veterans are still waging a private war with two very fierce opponents, post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD and smoking. Those with PTSD often use tobacco to help regulate their mood or help with other psychiatric symptoms. A new study finds that veterans who combine PTSD and tobacco cessation treatment improve their chances to kick the smoking habit. Catherine Dolf has more in this week's JAMA Report.
