can less than 6 moths of smoking cause cancer for a 19 year old?hi i am a 19 year old guy, lately i have been having trouble breathing (shortness of breath), constant dizziness but no pain or cough. i have smoked a fair share of marijuana and a little bit of tobacco for the last six months. could this be cancer or maybe something else? this whole thing started after one night of a lot of pot smoking.

If you are showing symptoms like that then you are experiencing the first signs of lung damage. You shouldn't have cancer but you are well and truly on your way to it if you keep up your lifestyle habits. Try to quit it all now if you can. You may regret it down the track if you are married with kids and not live long enought to see them grow up.

It can't cause you to have cancer directly but it can increase the chance. It doesn't sound like you have cancer. It just gave some harm to your lungs. You just should give up smoking and you will get better very soon.

unless you have a strong family history of cancer, its doubtful that you have it.
your symptoms (based on the few details that you posted) could more likely be due to allergies (different blends of pot can sometimes trigger them) or possibly asthma.
also possible, but a long shot: could be a heart problem.
again, unless you have a strong family history of it, its least likely cancer.

Are you referring to lung cancer? If so, 19 year olds do not get lung cancer.
Smoking does not cause cancer it is a risk factor and if your smoking contributes to you getting cancer you will not know for at least another 30-40 years.

Also, if you are smoking street pot you never know what you're getting. It may be sprayed with pesticides, or may have been smuggled into the country in a cargo container with who knows what. One of the downsides of the irrational and wasteful war on pot.
