Heart problems due to heavy smoking?I used to lift heavy weights before I started smoking for at least an hour every session and then I stopped lifting when I began smoking for about four years. This involved heavy chain smoking everyday and drinking, the past two days I have stayed sober and clean and today I tried lifting some weights but after just a few minutes my heart started to burn and I felt it pounding very heavily against my chest. I know my blood pressure is about 20 mm Hg over average systolic pressure but I am physically fit and am only 21 years old. My lungs are in bad condition but I am more worried about any heart damage because sometimes it feels like my heart is being torn apart in my chest.

Sounds like you are also overweight. You also probably have hypertension - go see your doctor.
You should stop smoking cold turkey - you need to start walking and getting your heart back into shape and build up slowly before lifting weights. Eat healthy fresh, fruit and veg - lay off the take-aways and Do not start any steroids or hormones (testosterone) if you do you will cause heart damage.
You could have a bronchitis caused by your smoking and this is causing the pain, but get your doctor to listen to your lungs and check your blood pressure and weight.

That's natural for someone who takes a break from working out and plus your smoking are contributing to ur heart pounding fast Don't jump right into working out . Gradually start working out to give your body time to adjust. One day do 5-10 minutes of lifting weights, next 20 minutes etc.
