I am wondering which of the smoking cessation products would be best for me?I smoke about 2-3 cigarettes a day, only at night and a few more on the weekends. Basically I dont need to smoke during work but if I have a day off like on the weekends I will smoke more-the most being about a half pack a day.
I am wondering if I should try the patch or gum to quit. Please let me know from your experience and from my smoking behavior which would be best. Thank you for your help.

I was the same way for over a year. Didn't smoke at work, in the car or in the house, which basically meant that I only smoked at night in my backyard! Eventually, I would simply just forget to smoke altogether. The easiest way to quit is to just not buy them anymore. And think about what you will do with all the money you save.

Try Chantix. A couple of my friends tried it and were able to quit. Of course, you will have to speak with your doctor first as it is a prescription medicine. Or you could just try "cold turkey". I find that if you really want to do something, for yourself and not others, it can be really easy. Just stop smoking. With a habit like yours you aren't likely to feel much of a withdrawal, so your habit is probaly more mental than a true physical addiction. Just stop smoking, damn it, you're killing yourself! Oh yeah, start exercising. There is some evidence that people that begin an exercise program after quitting smoking have a higher success rate of staying off the tabaccy.
