If i quit smoking will my voice return to normal?

If i quit smoking will my voice return to normal?I've been smoking for like 8 years, and the last 6 months my voice has
gotten a little raspy, and the hi notes in my voice aren't so hi anymore.
If I quit, will my voice return to normal?

It should take 6 months to a year for the tissue on the vocal cords to renew, depends on your age and health condition.

congrats on your road to a new and improved you!!
from here on now you lungs are slowly making its way to full recovery..

it should take another year or so for you to be completly healed (your lungs) but your voice rasp should fade away in time too..
drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated and your throat clear of any debris

good luck

I smoked for 18 years, and I couldn't tell a difference in my voice when I quit. Then the other day I was listening to my voice on a video and I realized how much different it sounded. My voice sort of popped, and cracked, before. It was like a person who has a terrible cold, going into pneumonia. My voice is naturally raspy, but the popping, wheezing, and cracking that I never really picked up on before has left!

aye
