Question about smoking cigarettes?(for smokers)?

Question about smoking cigarettes?(for smokers)?I was thinking about starting a smoking regimen with tobacco. What are some of the benefits of smoking? Does smoking tobacco give you pleasure? If so, I believe that it would be a good thing to do because you will be obtaining an X amount of pleasure that will eventually equal out to an amount of suffering if tobacco is a contributing factor toward the end of my life. If smoking is a way to easily obtain pleasure, then I would like to begin a smoking regimen, but if smoking does not bring pleasure then I will not start. So, what do you think?

thank you

depends on the person, some fell the pleasure, some don't.. try some and you'll see weather you like it or not, one box won't kill you :) of course it will be better if you don't start :)

I have been smoking for about 2 and a half years now (I'm almost 21), and I must say that there are more negatives to me. I started out smoking a pack a week, just to get a smoke break at work. Then, gradually, I started to smoke more. It got to a point that I was smoking one and a half packs a day. I'm back down to about 1-2 packs a week now, but it is a hard habit to break. Especially if you can smoke in your house (we are in an apartment so we can't). If there is nothing to do all day but chainsmoke, and you're a smoker, you will. Also, it's expensive. On base ( my husband is in the military), camel lights cost about $ 30.00 a carton, whereas I know in Michigan they are about $ 6.00 a pack, so they are not exactly cheap. Also, the smell is not delicious. Well, sometimes it smells good to me, but the less I smoke the more yucky it smells. It also gets in your clothes and hair, and it's hard to get out. I worry about cancer, too. I don't want to die of cancer because I was dumb and started smoking. But, also, if you roll your own, you can use pure tobacco, that doesn't have any additives like cyanide and stuff, so that is a "healthier" option.
Honestly, I don't know why I smoke. Sometimes, it calms me down, sometimes it keeps me from binge eating, and sometimes it's just something to do. I think I could quit, and I am happy that I have cut back so much, but I am not there yet. My advice is, the pleasure really isn't worth it. When I first started smoking, I did get a little type of high from it, but the more you smoke, the more it takes to get that high, just like every other drug, including alcohol. My advice is, don't start. Try it if you want to, but it's harder to stop once you do. I wish I hadn't done it, but now I have to work hard against that addiction. So, yeah. Good luck!
