Reason why people should quit smoking marijuana?

why quit smoking
by Nika

Reason why people should quit smoking marijuana?Idk why but something in my gut and that was drilled in my morals that no one should smoke marijuana. My boyfriend smokes and it's driving us apart cause I'm constantly upset when I find out he's been smoking. He finds nothing wrong with it and finds me to be ridiculous by getting so upset. Can any one give me evidence why he should quit? Why marijuana is bad?

It isn't bad its a natural plant put on the earth for a reason and it usually makes people happy.

You should readjust your question and refocus the purpose a little, as the abuse of marijuana does not directly cause the same adverse effects in the same magnitude as other commonly abused prescription or non-prescription substances. Such as abuse related paranoid hallucinations, where as this is common with LSD abuse, it can be present in marijuana but is typically associated with LARGE doses. The risk with abusing marijuana is what it indirectly causes.

Consider the super relaxed state he appears to be in when under the influence of THC, with slowed reaction times, an altered mentation, different though processes and changes in a typical sympathetic v parasympathetic or sympatholytic / parasympathomimetic like response should he be required to act quickly he may be severely delayed. For example, should be forget to put his 'blunt' down away from something that could catch fire, depending on how much the THC has affected his though process, he may elect to stare at the fire and remark how warm it is today instead of noticing the emergent condition and fleeing the danger source.

Mood swings, paranoia, hallucination and short-term memory deficiencies as well as sensorimotor functionality decrease are part of the reactions to marijuana abuse. If your boyfriend had psychological problems to being with for which he is or isn't seeking treatment, these could exacerbate and become uncontrollable.

A good way to tell if someone has a problem with substance abuse and dependence is as simple as four questions:

1) Do you feel the need to "CUT DOWN" on your usage?
2) Have you ever felt "ANNOYED" by what others say about your usage?
3) At some point, have you felt "GUILTY" about how your usage seems to affect others?
4) During the periods of use, did you ever need an "EYE-OPENER" first thing in the morning?

This group of questions is known as the "CAGE Questionnaire" and is used for the diagnosis of Alcoholism, where two or more "yes" answers can accurately suggest a problem drinker about 93%. Although its utility for the purpose of diagnostication of pathology in other areas of substance abuse is unstudied, many practitioners use it to see if further testing is needed.

Your moral and ethical conviction is applause worthy and you should stick to what you believe in. Your situation is not comparable to what other girls may ask their boyfriends to change, such as hair color or music taste. Drug abuse has a real financial, legal and health consequence to it. For your own protection, ask him to disclose each time he is "holding" or in possession when you are around. A drug possession charge can change both of your lives and the way many police officers interpret things or see things can sometimes be very different then what they are (in many states, his baggie in your car while you drive = YOUR BAGGIE & YOUR DRUG CHARGE).

Remember, there is a time and place for everything. As long as the habit does not affect the abusers loved ones or those around them, they maintain goals and strive to attain them, are productive and respectful citizens that promote community awareness and can still care for themselves and their dependents both emotionally, physically and financially; there exists no problem. However, the minute they begin to change them-selves or affect others directly or indirectly, a clinical addiction exists and the detrimental problems associated with drug abuse and dependence will become rapidly apparent and drastically real.

Listen.
Weed does not Harm you
It is not Chemically Engineered(Tobacco)
It is Not addicting
and There has not been one death Closely linked to Marijuana
I think since you said you have "Morals" you just dont like the fact he is doing an illegal activity
Ive dealt with this with my Ex
Now if you dont like how he acts when he is high just simply ask" Can you be sober when your around me please? because you act like a DickWad." if he really respects you and likes you,he will respect your wishes, If not then i guess you can tell what his priorities are
but one thing ,if he really likes smoking dont tell him to quit all together because he will probably end up doing it behind your back and there starts the issues with trust....
Hope i helped :)

Marijuana causes demotivation, permanent brain damage, memory problems, and increases the lifetime risk of schizophrenia. It's also a gateway drug.

That being said, it's no worse overall than alcohol or cigarettes and he's pretty clearly made his choice. You don't have to like it, but it's his choice to make, not yours. If you try to control your boyfriend's life, you're either going to lose your boyfriend or he'll start doing stuff behind your back, and then you'll discover it and feel lied to. Positive change is always good, but you can't change people, and if you base a relationship on the assumption that someone will change, the relationship will probably fail.

No people should not, its healthy and has no evidence against it..
