Ridding of cigarette smoke from furniture?My mother n law recently moved into our house. I really wouldn't have minded all that much but the fact of the matter is, is that she is a extreamely heavy smoker. Everything she owns reeks of stale smoke and old hairspray. Oh My God, Its very nausiating. Moving her furniture in my van caused my van to smell very badly. Now we placed her bed into the bedroom we provided for her. Her furniture is literally stinking up the house. Its OK when her door is shut but upon immedieatly opening the door it hits you like a semi truck. Its in her clothes, wood furniture, bed mattress, even the sheets and blanket we washed would not help. WOW! Other than tossing all of her shit our in the front yard which would cause marital problems, how can we fix this.

Try using a product like Febreeze on EVERYTHING and then maybe use one of the plug in type of air fresheners....the kind that *clean* the air 24/7 and turn it up to high. Put one in her room and just outside her door. Good luck!
