Smoking Question?Ok, I'm losing my mind. I made the decision to quit. I know it's hokey, but it was my New Years Resolution. I haven't smoked in over 5 weeks. For that I'm proud. I'm taking Chantix which is an AWESOME smoking cessation drug. My question is this...why can't I sleep?!?!? I haven't had a decent nights sleep in 5 weeks!!! I'm literally losing it. I get, maybe, two hours of sleep a night. What can I take, or do, to sleep!!! Help me!

If some of the helping drugs have nicotine in them, try to reduce the intake.
Withdrawal shouldn't take so long.
For better sleep drink a cup of St Johns Wort tea (couple hours before bedtime) - helps me.

go to a health store and buy some valerin, it tastes bad but really helps relaxing u. i have insomnia and when i can't sleep i take some. ur body probably is just reacting to u not smoking any more, and it stresses it, so u just need to get relaxed.

As an insomniac I can feel your pain. I've dealt with insomnia for about 10 years now. The one thing that has helped me the most (with no strange side affects) is Melatonin. You can find it at almost any store that sells Vitamins. The best part about it is that you don't need a prescription.

Probably the drug. Stop the drug, and believe that you will not smoke without it and you won't.
Stopping smoking is easier than most people think...
You don't have to DO anything.
Smoking requires much action...purchasing cigarettes (or bumming one from someone) lighting it, going out side or away from non-smokers (unless you're a real jerk and don't care who you harm with your smoke) actually smoking the cigarette, disposing of the butt (unless your're a total jerk and throw it on the ground) and then returning to your previous activity.
Not smoking is easy.
Smoking is hard.
Good luck, but it's not luck, it's simply a decision you make to be a non-smoker, and honor your body-temple by not committing suicide one cigarette at a time...
I know from experience...
And by the way, look for the dream where you find yourself smoking in your dream, and realize you are not supposed to be smoking. That means the desire to quit has traveled into your subconscious, and that it worked.
