5. Health
To be honest if it wasn't unhealthy for people I would see no reason, besides it being a bit disgusting, not to do it.

Reasons People Start
1. Too Look Cool
2. Peer Pressure
3. Boredom
4. Curiosity
5. Stress
Benefits of Quitting:
1. Better Health
2. Smell Better
3. Live Longer
4. You're no longer treated like you are lower than dirt by non-smokers
5. Age Slower
I do smoke. I have been smoking for almost 30 years. I started smoking because of peer pressure, curiosity and to look cool. It was a dumb decision. I've tried to quit numerous times but have not been successful. Despite what some people say, it is not easy for EVERYONE to quit. My immediate family (mother, brothers, sister) all smoke but I was not raised with them. I was raised by all non-smokers. I started smoking as a teenager but had to sneak around to do it and didn't get hooked at that time. When I was able to smoke whenever I wanted, and after a few years, I became hooked to the point where it has been impossible (so far) for me to quit. I have tried the stop smoking aids that I'm able to but I am allergic to a lot so I can't use some of them. I believe that there is a so-called "smoking" gene that makes some people become hooked and others not. It is no different that the alcohol gene or other genes in your body that make you who you are. If someone with this gene never tries smoking, they will never get hooked. If someone without this gene starts smoking, it is doubtful they will become physically hooked (although they may get in the habit) and it wouldn't be hard for them to quit. That is why some people say,"Well, I smoked and I had no problem quitting." They then think it is that easy for everyone.
This is just my opinion but I hope it helps you.
