The benefits of smoking weed and the dangers, what are they?I've smoked weed just yesterday and boy was it good. It makes you feel really relaxed, and you find everything funny. So I know it's bad because anything you inhale is bad for your lungs. I hear that people that smoke weed look horrible. They get wrinkles, acne, etc.. I've heard that weed makes you grow taller (and don't ask me where did I hear that because I don't really remember). So could you tell me the benefits and dangers of smoking weed?

Just as any other drug, it's addictive. That nice little feeling you get high starts to fade, making you have to smoke more and more. Any benefits to smoking weed are short-term only. There are no long-term benefits..except sitting around numbly in the dark watching the real world pass you by....which isn't a benefit at all.

The most dangerous thing is getting caught.
Don't smoke everyday, if you do it will take more to get you high.
You risk loosing a few brain cells if you hold your breath for too long, but weed itself doesn't hurt you.
Holding it in 2-3 seconds is good enough, holding it in longer doesn't really get you noticably higher anyways. 5 seconds is the max.
All of that danger could be eliminated by using a vape or eating it (make brownies, mix it with melted butter). Smoking is preffered to eating because it kicks in right away and you can controll how much you get.
Hope that helps, and have fun.

it does relax some but others can get paranoid. it doesn't make you grow taller and it does have effect on your ability to think rationally. there are many dangers of smoking pot. even tho it it less harmful than most all other street drugs it still can be harmful to your brain. mostly that is due to the added chemicals

Hey, I grew up in the 60's---weed was plentiful and cheap (by todays standards) and in college, almost (I said ALMOST) everyone at least TRIED it once---some more often... I am now in my late 50's, and I have probably a lot fewer wrinkles then most people my age... HOWEVER, I do have a serious lung and heart disease BUT, no one is actually sure if it was caused by my 35 YEARS of cigarette smoking, the 4 years of POT smoking and or another serious condition I have that brings ON these two diseases. I'm sure its a combination of all 3 however. Dangers? A lot has been SAID but not a LOT has been PROVEN but we know it can hurt the lungs---I think in a lot of ways, it also destroys brain cells... I've seen friends from the 60's and 70's who STILL smoke pot and it's like they became space cadets in the true sense of the word... Also, one BIG danger is that unfortunately it is STILL very much ILLEGAL (by the way I haven't smoked pot since about 25 or 30 YEARS ago now)....so there is a BIG danger of being arrested... of losing a job (due to random drug tests at places of work), it's WAY TOO EXPENSIVE now---you could go bankrupt supporting a heavy pot habbit. Oh and should you GET arrested for carrying less then an ounce of pot--it's STILL an arrest that COULD make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to get that dream job you are looking for---EVERY job application that I have EVER SEEN asks the question----HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ARRESTED FOR OR CONVICTED OF A CRIME..... those who get busted for pot DO have to answer YES to that question or risk being FIRED ON THE SPOT once the truth comes out---that truth has an AWFUL FUNNY WAY of ALWAYS COMING OUT.
By the way, I was 4ft 9in when I first TRIED pot---and 4ft 9in when I stopped smoking it---so no, it does not make one grow taller---HAD it, I might still be smoking it...!!!!!!
