Does smoking cigarettes guarantee cancer/health problems? Will all cigarette smolers experience health problems and get cancer? Because my dad is 45 and has been smoking for over 15 years and he's still healthy. He dosen't have respiratory problems and just seems like a normal human being with a fine health. I have a friend who is a high school senior and he started smoking since freshman year 5 days a week, and he dosen't have any health problems! I'm just wondering - will all cigarette smmokers experience the negative effects? Or do some or should I say a lot, get lucky and nothing happens to them?

Coating the interior of one's lungs with tar and exposure to nicotine is never a good thing. No...many people smoke their entire life and don't get cancer or emphysema. The majority, in fact. It is just that it is a crap shoot, and a risk that can be controlled. He could quit tomorrow and be killed in a car wreck the next day...who knows?

there is no cause why we get cancer. They led to believe that smoking contributes to cancer. It is the danger of having lung problems that might be causing eczema. I smoked for 40 years had not much problems if any from smoking. Only quit because I am no longer popular smelling like cigarettes and the cost.
