kristen t
peer pressure, stress reliever, makes me cough, decreased lung capacity, tried to quit 3 times, i regret it every time i light up, all of my immediate family, less than a pack a day, some smoke, my husband complains every day about my smoking, i hope to. i tell all young people not to ever try it, it's way to easy to get addicted and to hard to give it up. it becomes part of who you are as a person.
kristen, cigarette smoker for 18 years

When I started, over 50 years ago, it was the in thing
Negative effects
1. I have copd with only 35% lung capacity
2. I can't breath good enough to work
3. I have to carry a tank of oxygen with me
4. I have to waste 1 day a week for oxygen delivery
5, It cost me about $ 200 per month for Drs and COPD drugs
6. I can not have a normal sex life because I can not breath well enough
7. My small veins are plugged so I have to buy ED drugs
8. I can't travel or even go fishing
Quitting: I stopped after about the 5th attempt, After the 4th time I fiqured that the drug companies don't tell you the truth. The patch, gum, inhaler are for folks smoking 1 pack or less a day
Zyban, and Welluburtin (sp) was a total waste of money ( I wasted over $ 300 on that stuff) Get a sript for an anti-anxiety drug like Ativan for withdrawl, It works and it only about $ 1 a pill
I made 5 trips to the Hospital for Shortness of Breath, About $ 500 for the Ambulance and $ 500 a day for the Hospital
Something for smokers to look foward to:
Some of us do Cardio/Pulmanory Rehab, Here it was over $ 800
for an 8 week course and $ 31 a month for maintence
Yes I regret stating, One of the items that made me quit was they were going to raise Taxes another $ 5 a carton THey had raised taxes $ 20 over the past 5 years. When my Brand in over $ 45 in my home state and $ 11 a carton in Mexico, I decided to stop feeding 'THEM'
My wife and son still smoke
I was smoking 5 packs a day when I quit. I'm smoke free only 1.5 years. Smoke free resturants smell a lot better.
Future generations: Don't start, many towns/cities have a total outright ban, you can't even smoke in your home, Health /Life Insurance rates will be very high for smokers. Most of the money you pay for smokes will be stolen by politicans.
Only thing I use tobacco for is a garden pesticide
Betcha don't get comments anywhere near this one
