Is it impossible to quit addiction without quitting friendship....?

Is it impossible to quit addiction without quitting friendship....?I recently decided to quit for good....
but the hard part is that quitting implies loosing friends....
most people see these friends of mine as horrible people...but I was once one of them, and these people helped me get through hard times...

dealing with withdrawal is hard enough...now should I quit even my friends?

you need to make compromises now, what you think of ur friends now they might thinnk something else of you later, if it's a bad addiction then u shouldn't consider them your friend

try to help your old friends too, while keeping a strong hold on your better ones. if they refuse, then quit them before you're again influenced by them.

do not quit your friends but do ensure that you are not doing anything wrong

You can still hang out with those people they just can't be doing what you were previously addicted to around you... being in contact with another addict while giving up your addiction is like quitting smoking but carrying friends around so you get the second hand smoke... Do you see what I mean you can keep the friends as long as for while their with you they stay away from that addiction...

You shouldn't have to quit your friends, but usually it happens and helps in the long run. It's just a sad fact of life. Congrats on quitting! And you have a whole line of new friends just waiting to be met.
