Once again, I am going to try and ask this question.?I have started taking the smoking cessation drug chantix and have experienced some rather bad side effects. I have this rash on my face that is horrible and think that it may be because of the meds. I anyone out there can help me, I will appreciate it. Should I stop taking the drug or just wait it out?
miiiiiiho.
Of course stop taking the drug immediately if you cannot think of any other reason to why you are getting rashes. It may be that you are allergic to certain substances in the drug chantix- the best thing, would be to go see a doctor and consult about taking that drug.

Is this a life threatening disease you are taking medication for?
Is this medication one of those that you can not just stop taking? Should say on bottle if you miss a dose take another as soon as you remember, I ask myself this when I stop taking drugs I react badly to.
Call the doctor.
The nurse will tell you if it is safe to stop taking. Being me and if this happened to me, I would stop taking it!

If the rash has occured because of the medication, its the bodies way of saying "DON'T TAKE IT." It doesn't agree with you. Try a different medicine.

For sure, stop taking it. Try Nicorettes gum, it worked for me. Just don't drink anything cold while you're chewing it because it'll get as hard as a rock.

Seek immediate medical attention if an allergic reaction occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing.
If it were me I would stop taking Chantix and see my doctor about the rash. If you also have itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing I would seek medical help ASAP. Good luck.
