When I stop taking Zyban, what should I expect?I have been a chronic smoker for 20 odd years, and have now been nicotine free for 7wks with the help of Zyban and im very worried about what will happen when my 2mt course comes to an end.
I am still "breathless" a lot of the time, but Im very strong, and dont envision starting to smoke again whatever happens.
I just want some idea of what to expect.

Depression is the most common side effect that i know of. I recently stopped smoking for a girl. 5 weeks smoke free and feeling good. Just stay focused and remember that EVEN ONE SMOKE can get you re-addicted... stay strong and stay focused.

I really don't know. I tried looking in webmd.com and it doesn't have anything on what happens when you stop taking Zyban. Make it easy on yourself and call the Doctor that prescribed this for you and ask him. Good luck and I hope you never smoke again. I have a battle with that myself. The best to you.

I was on Zyban for 2months and did not smoke. All I can say is that for me personally I wanted to smoke again once I stopped taking it. Of course it didn't help that my husband started smoking again. Best of luck to you... hope you do better than I did.
