Why is marijuana illegal when tobacco and alcohol are not?OR why isn't marijuana legal if tobacco and alcohol are?
I've drank alcohol and I used to smoke pot on a regular basis, and truthfully I don't understand why they don't either make marajuana legal (considering many of it's scientific benefits) or make alcohol/tobacco illegal (since they have no benifits at all, an can only make you sick). At least marijuana can do some good for some people, and it's not addictive like alcohol or tobacco..

Viva! Ron Paul
Tobacco and Alcohol are multi-billion dollar industries with lobbyist. Pot has no lobbyists therefore politicians have no bribes to legalize the pot. It's as old as politics.

You know the answer already.
The government can't control it.
It's a LONG and HARD process to make tobacco smokable, and it's a similarly hard process to make your own alcohol (but not as hard as tobacco).
Anyone who has soil, a pot, and some flourescent lights can grow pot, let it dry out after being picked, and sell it.
It's too easy to do-it-yourself.
Therefore, even if the government did one day legally sell marijuana, you could buy a batch, take the seeds, go home, and have your own stash forever, (saving the seeds, of course).
