Ex Cigarette Smokers: Has anyone experienced this when quitting?I am just starting to quit (somewhat) cold turkey and I want to try some kind of aid.
I have heard that the patch and taking Chantix causes side affects like weird dreams.
Anyone experience this and know why this happens?

First of all NEVER combine products And yes on patch you have either erotic or weird dreams. Sometimes can be the same. LOL

i have used to patch to quit smoking and i'm not sure why it causes weird/vivid dreams, but its not what i consider a "bad" side effect. they really do work if you're willing to work with them. remember, you won't ever quit unless you are committed to doing so. try not to put a new patch on at night and your dreams won't be affected as much. also, don't put the patch over your kidneys b/c i noticed pain in my back when i did that. ; ) good luck!

It's never good to mix medication. You need to be real carefull sometimes if you mix the wrong thing it will do your body more harm than good. The dreams are coming from the patches. Almost all patches do that...weight loss, sea sick patches, birth control. I would just go with the chantix....I quit cold turkey but my mom, aunt, and a friend all quit using it. You have to be truely ready though. If you're doing it because everyone else wants you to and not for your self then you are setting yourself up for failure. If you are completely ready then the chantix will help you get the job done. You will never stop having cravings so you will have to rely on will power then. Good luck to ya! ☺
