Hypertension has been linked to heredity, however, it mostly comes down to diet and lifestyle, as with most heart diseases. Living a healthier lifestyle will help reduce your chances of suffering from cardiovascular disorders. Smoking has been linked to increased blood pressure with can cause cardiovascular disease. Diet has a large influence on atherosclerosis which with the combination of hypertension can cause severe issues with the circulatory system. When Diet is poor, fat builds up and restricts blood flow. If the clot (chunk) breaks off, it can block the flow of blood from certain parts of the body, including the brain.
Also, another interesting circulatory disorder is DVT, which is primarily found in women when estrogen levels are low, particularly after menopause. Just some ideas.
