How likely am I to die of heart attack or heart/vascular disease in 10 years?I am 22 years old, I do not smoke or drink, I am 5'10"183 lbs which is considered overweight for my height, I don't really excercise all that much. my pulse is usually around 64, my blood pressure has been around 122/79 lately and my blood sugar after eating has been in the 106-120 range. I know this is really for medical professionals, I just wanted to get a bit of an idea since I don't have insurance to go see a dr without it costing me an arm and a leg.

not very likely.
you are only 22.
Maybe in your 40's or 50's.
Possibly never.
don't worry about it.

Due to your relative age, your in the low risk category for the next ten years. But in 20+ years this maybe become a moderate issue simply due to your weight, Your blood sugar level should be tested a while after eating, to ensure accurate readings.

From what you have written, you have minimal risk factors. The chance of cardiovascular didease is very low in somebody such as you are describing. Just to be safe, follow proper diet and exercise, to reduce even further any risk.

Hi Brandon! The answer is "It depends..." Your chances of dying in the next 10 years are only significant IF you were born with a congenital problem (abnormality) of the heart or blood vessels in which case a previous physical exam would likely have already detected a problem. Yes. healthy-appearing young men have died of a sudden heart abnormal rhythm or sudden blow to the chest or ruptured artery in the brain (an aneurysm). However, with your negative history and present good "numbers" you report, your chances of this happening are less than 1 in a thousand. Just keep yourself going in a healthy lifestyle of proper diet, exercise, and normal weight. Avoid smoking and limit any drinking to true moderation. After you get some health coverage, try to have a routine annual physical exam, including screen for STDs (sexually transmitted diseases), if appropriate.
