I have questions about quitting smoking cigarettes and the health benefits and timeline of detox?

I have questions about quitting smoking cigarettes and the health benefits and timeline of detox? My husband is 48. Has been smoking since he was 24. One pack per day and he smoked menthol cigs (important detail).

1. He stopped on Monday of this week at 8am. It has been 3 nights and 4 days so far. How many more days will he have to suffer through the detox and withdrawal symptoms?

2. Give me a complete list of medical benefits including how this will effect his libido and his erections. One important detail. He has been diabetic since he is 30, he is in tight control since he was 39 with A1C average of 6.0 and he has mild peripheral neuropathy in his feet.
Repeat: List of health benefits including erection improvement possibility.

do not turn back. he has to quit smoking. in diabetes it is very important. 4 days is not enough for detox. 7-10 days minimum... but he can use nicotine patches to pass more comfortable this period. drinking 2-3 litters of water per day
drinking herbal teas
eating fresh foods(fruits,vegetables)
quitting the habits that he have while smoking ( coffee, tea, alcohol) will be useful.

the A1C seems normal. the neuropathy is also normal. cause you said that he is diabetic since 30.
don't know about libido and erections but he has to quit smoking just for the neuropathy and diabetes. he is young, he can live longer, healthier and a qualified life...
