I sometimes get the urge to smoke when I'm drinking, could I still develop health problems?I sometimes like to have a few cigarettes when I'm going out drinking, and it's not even every time I drink, I go into spurts here and there. And when I do go into these spurts, one pack could last me a month or even two! Am I still at risk for the health problems smoking causes?

Unfortunately, yes. There are people who smoke a pack a day who don't get sick until they're in their late seventies, and there are people who have only smoked a few packs in their lifetime who get lung cancer. You're always going to be at risk for those health problems, but the more you do it, the higher your risk will be. I wouldn't worry too much about it. There are a ton of things that could cause health problems. Live your life while you can. You're at a low risk right now, but a risk is a risk.

No, you will be fine. You are getting no more exposure to smoke than a nonsmoker who walks on a sidewalk near a busy street occasionally.
