advantages to quitting marijuana?im asking this as an honest question to adults that are knowledgeable about the plant... im kind of in the process of quitting-- im in night two from being someone who normally smokes every night or other night for the past 2-5 years and my longest break was probably 2 weeks a while back...
so im just wondering if you think quitting marijuana is really worth it.... and what are good ways to bypass the thoughts of getting high and basking myself in euphoria. and if you have ever toked you know what i mean....
a part of me feels like the side effects from marijuana go away after a day of night smoking but admittingly ive never gone too long without and maybe i can get to better states of meditation from abstaining for a while... anyone got any good ideas on quitting or know of convincing evidence that it is better not to toke?
thanks for reading! the yahoo answers community is awesome

Iv only been smokin 4 bout 2 years now. The only reason quitting even crossed my mind was becuase last october i was given a 6 month probation period when i was found in a stolen vehicle. But thats not important, quiting for a little while does give you a better high. Like having to much of a good thing. If you smoke you have a good thing many others may never experience becuase of the bad name marijuana gets. I would take a break, but quitting sounds unecessary unless you have a personal situation that you know would keep you from being able to continue to smoke.

Save money. that's all I can think of.

you dont have to worry about getting in trouble with the law. if you need to pass a drug test for a job or any other reason you dont have to worry. save $ $ . save brain cells. save your lungs.
go for a run, its a good body buzz. and it will burn all that THC out of your fat~

if it is true that a weed smokers lungs are "healthier" than a cigarette smokers lungs- it does NOT mean that marijuana is good for the lungs...
and i guess i should be more literal here about killing brain cells- when you take your huge toke of marijuana you hold it in for a few seconds. that is what can kill brains cells. i wouldn't assume its a big problem, IM just tossing it in my reasons to not smoke because i can.

aww i think i might cry now because you dont care what i have to say =***( big tears.
so depriving ones brain of oxygen, whether that be from holding ones breath to allow THC to better absorb into oneself or because the lungs are coated in resin, is good for it?!

The moment you butt out your last toke, your body starts to recover.
You may need rehab. Adiction centres are full of of folks trying to get off this "non addictive" drug,

soosy's answer is idiotic, marijuana does not kill brain cells. Unless you have scientific proof that marijuana kills human brain cells, I'll be glad to believe it, other than that marijuana does not kill brain cells. Studies also show that marijuana smokers have LESS of a chance developing lung cancer than non-smokers.
The only advantage you would get is cleaner urine and more money.
edit:
"The heaviest marijuana users in the study had smoked more than 22,000 joints, while moderately heavy smokers had smoked between 11,000 and 22,000 joints. Cellular studies and even some studies in animal models suggest that THC has antitumor properties, either by encouraging the death of genetically damaged cells that can become cancerous or by restricting the development of the blood supply that feeds tumors."
"The claim that marijuana kills brain cells is based on a speculative report dating back a quarter of a century that has never been supported by any scientific study."
sossy, I don't care what you have to say from what you have to say unless you've actually done RESEARCH. I want facts and not what you THINK or assume you know.
