ATTN: SMOKERS! Conducting a poll for research paper-Appreciate the feedback?I am writing a research paper for college concerning the effects of a national smoking ban. I would love feedback from you all on these following questions. Thank You so much!
1. How much do you smoke per day?
2. How much do you spend per day/week?
3. If you live in a state that imposes the Clean Indoor Air Act, did this deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down or quit?)
4. With each rise in cigarette excise tax, does this increase deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down, or quit?)
5. Do you want to quit? If so...
6. What methods have you used to help you quit, and were they effective?
(I may be posting this question several times to get a good number of participants. Please post only once. Again, Thank You!)

1 - About 1.5 packs per day
2 - About $ 40 per week
3 - I rarely go out to bars or out to eat, so the ban in restaurants/bars had very little impact for me. BUT - If I were going out, I'd be more likely to go somewhere that allowed smoking.
4 - No, the price increases didn't really make a difference.
5 - Yes, I want to quit.
6 - I've tried Welbutrin (the pill) a few years ago, and it did nothing for me. I've tried the patch, and that helped somewhat, but I started smoking again when life got stressful (within a week). I plan on starting the patch again next week - WISH ME LUCK!!!
