I feel really weird and depressed and lonley after quitting smoking?I have recently quit smoking (7 days smoke free)
I honestly love smoking and part of me doesn't want to quit but I'm doing the smart thing and giving it up.
Cancer isn't worth it, or any of those health risks.
I just feel really Alone, depressed, irrated, weird. Like i've gone crazy.
Is this normal? Why does it happen? I'm curious
ADVICE: DO NOT PICK UP OR TRY SMOKING. IT'S STUPID AND ONLY KILLS YOU. THE WORST PART IS YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THE HABIT AND FEEL LIKE YOU ARE DYING DURING THE QUITTING PROCESS.

Find another hobby. Anything would work, chewing gum or something that will divert your mind. Get help from a doctor, they might have great advice. Good luck!

well i've never smoked or drinked, but my uncle was a heavy smoker and drinker , he loved both. but then oneday he had a defining moment; and that made him e decided to stop. it was heard but he did it.now it's being 7 years and he stopped both of them. however, it should be noted that he did not suddenly stop, he would take one smoke or two a day and eventually stopped, and always hunged out around people who were non-smokers. so, my advices is be around non smokers, and if there isn't any, try given up one a day. good luck hope it works out for you .

Any addiction is very difficult to break & the symptoms that you describe are very normal ones.
You don't mention your age, but adults can ask their Physician for a mild anxiety medication to take for a short term.
Walking & other activities will also help.
Keeping busy is the secret as it will distract you from your addiction.
You will adjust in time & certainly be back to feeling normal. Don't give up !!

the worst part when i quit smoking was anger, i was pissy all the time, weed helped a lot because it calmed me down and took my mind off cigs cause i was with friends, idk if you would want to do this but it helped me, remember tho you cant become addicted to weed like you can tobacco. your symptoms do sound pretty normal, you are out of your element. your body has become used to that chemical and now it doesn't have it so of course you are going to feel weird. as for the alone thing, try to be with non smoker friends as much as possible because they want to see you quit and will help you. good luck
