is water really the cure-all people make out?So, i live a reasonably healthy lifestyle, i dont eat too much, i workout on a daily basis, i quit smoking, im not overweight and i take my multivitamin etcetc.
The one thing i dont do that i'd be willing to is drink enough water. Generally i drink no water on its own, it's rare that i have a drink that isnt either coffee or coke, and not even that much of those. now considering the caffeine that these have in which is a duiretic im wondering whether id get noticable benefits from trying to get down a few pints of water a day? Or would i just be visiting the bathroom more often?
Has anyone tried this and had noticeable positive effects in skin/energy/body or have any facts about why everyone says 'drink plenty of water'?

No...
They finally did a "real" study about that, and they found no appreciable benefit from drinking 8 glasses of water per day...
They said to just drink when you're thirsty...

Well, water is just - water to you. Stuff like Gatorade actually replenishes your energy and thirst, but it's full of sugar. Water does the same, albeit not as well (I'm making it short), and it doesn't have sugar in it. So basically, water doesn't help your body like the others do, but you need it, just because it's water, and... your body just needs it, like gas in a car.
Very dull subject.
