Should all cigar and cigarette smoking be banned and illegal?

Should all cigar and cigarette smoking be banned and illegal? We know that when burned, cigarettes let out countless poisons and carcinigens. Why should I have to breathe in another's 2nd hand smoke? For instance, when I am driving, I routinely smell cigarette smoke from other people smoking in their cars, even with my windows and vents closed; outside walking I can smell it in the air at times, who knows where it is coming from, obviously though someone is smoking somewhere nearby...etc...I should not have to breathe in these poisons that have been proven to kill individuals who do not use them.

i agree with you that cigarette smoking should be banned as it is bad for health and that it will also affect our health also when we take in second hand smoke.

Absolutely. The issues with smoking are plain for everybody to see. The government knows that smoking is horrible, and they know it needs to be abolished, but with the size of the tobacco companies, or economy would go down the tubes.

Tobacco doesn't help anybody. not only is it killing the person smoking it, it's messing with all the people around the person smoking it!

It's a drug. That's all there is too it. it's addictive and it kills you. that should be enough to make it illegal.

No No No...

1. That car of yours is putting out in minutes more poisons then that cig you are smelling, and I don't think you are also saying we should get rid of the vehicle that are doing more harm to this planet then just about all else.

2. Just 1 jet flight from LA to New York produces more, I repeat more pollution, poisons, toxin, green house gases, etc then all the cigar and cigarettes smoked on the entire planet in an entire year. So why do I have to breath in that junk so you can get to somewhere faster.

3. When you start banning products you create more problems then you solve. Just look at what happened during the alcohol prohibition of the 1930's.

4. What happens when we start banning what we do like, do I get to ban your SUV for using some much gas, or your greasy fast food so I don't have to bear the cost of your heart attack, or maybe we could ban life styles we don't like because they cost us in dollars or time.

Just my 2 cents.

Since you want to ban cigars and cigarettes do you also want to keep marijuana illegal.
And what happens when criminals get hold of the banned cigarette market? Look at the 30's, almost all types of crime levels rose because we banned alcohol, gangs became powerful and prolific everywhere.
Today thousands die to provide America with its illegal drugs, both the guilty and the innocent caught in the middle.
Banning tobacco would just add to the income of criminals and create another problem.
I know that cigarettes can smell bad, I don't smoke them, but I will never get behind a movement to ban what others do. I know if you give the government an inch it will take a mile and who knows where the PC police will head next.

I would worry more about the amount of pollution you are bearthing from cars and factories then a cigarette if you are that worried about killer poisons.
