should you avoid smoking if you have a leaky heart valve?I was currently diagnosed with leaky heart valve disease and i am wondering if anyone of you know what I should AVOID doing. and what I should start doing to help me.

its not too bad. just faintly there. i take baby aspirin for it. thats what the doctor told me to take.

You should ask your doctor these sorts of questions because it depends how severe your disease is.

Definitely do not smoke. Do not drink excessively either. If you doctor recommends it, do not exercise too much either.

I have a severe leaky valve and a bicuspid valve and smoke and my Cardiologist is aware of it. I am not on any meds for it. Only restrictions I have as of now is no pregnancy labor and no weights when exercising.
